Prelko
Peak Demand Detection

Know the peak hours before it arrives.

Prelko scans every forecast for windows where load will cross your thresholds - capacity limits, contract demand, or a percentage above baseline - and raises an alert with the time remaining to act.

The alert fires when there is still time to act.

A 7-hour lead time is the difference between pre-charging storage at off-peak rates and buying power at the top of the market.

How peaks are identified

Three tests on every forecast interval.

Threshold crossing

The forecast, or its P90 bound, crosses a limit you define: transformer rating, feeder capacity, contract demand or a baseline percentage.

Ramp rate

Load is forecast to rise faster than your fleet can follow, typically the evening net-load ramp as solar drops off.

Deviation from expected

Metered load drifts outside the forecast band in-day, pointing to an unplanned event, a data fault or a weather miss.

Anatomy of an alert

Everything an operator needs to decide.

No alert is just a red light. Each one carries the evidence behind it and links straight to a dispatch recommendation.

Your thresholds

Set limits per asset, per contract or per season. Different teams can watch different limits.

Routed alerts

Console, email or API webhook, with escalation if an alert is not acknowledged.

Minimum lead time

Suppress alerts that arrive too late to act on, so the queue only holds decisions that still matter.

Peak detection questions

How far ahead are peaks detected?

Peaks are visible as soon as they appear in the forecast, up to seven days out. Day-ahead and intraday alerts are the most actionable, and each shows its lead time.

Will we get flooded with alerts?

Alerts are grouped by window and asset, and you choose the confidence level and minimum lead time required before one is raised.

Does detection work for a single facility?

Yes. For industrial and commercial sites the threshold is usually contract demand or a demand-charge band rather than network capacity.
