Prelko
Utilities & grid operators

Grid reliability, planned instead of rescued.

Prelko gives distribution and transmission operators a continuous forecast for every substation and feeder, flags the ones heading for their limits, and proposes the balancing actions to keep them inside. Your control room stays in command.

What utilities tell us

Three pressures, one root cause.

Reliability

Transformers and feeders run close to rating on hot evenings. Overloads are spotted on SCADA, when the only remaining option is load shedding.

Regulatory reporting

Scheduling deviation, forecast accuracy and reliability indices are reviewed closely, and assembling the evidence takes days each month.

Reactive balancing cost

Last-minute power purchases, deviation charges and peaker starts cost far more than the same energy planned a day ahead.

What Prelko does for a utility

From system total down to the feeder.

Forecasts are produced for every level of your network and reconciled, so the scheduling desk, the planning team and the field all work from one set of numbers.

How the engine works
  • Rolling 15-minute forecasts for system, substation and feeder load, 1 hour to 7 days ahead
  • Peak and overload alerts against transformer and feeder ratings, with lead time
  • Net-load forecasting with rooftop and utility-scale solar and wind
  • Dispatch recommendations for storage, demand response and scheduled imports
  • Day-ahead schedules aligned to your time-block settlement periods
  • Accuracy and deviation reports ready for internal and regulatory review
Who uses it

One platform, every desk in the utility.

Load dispatch centre

Intraday forecasts, peak alerts and recommendations to approve.

Network operations

Feeder and transformer loading ahead of each evening peak.

Power purchase & scheduling

Day-ahead and week-ahead demand for procurement and bids.

Regulatory & planning

Accuracy history, deviation trends and seasonal peak analysis.

Deployment

Grid-wide, without touching the grid.

Prelko reads from your SCADA historian and meter data, and never writes back to control systems. Onboarding does not require changes to protection or control configuration.

Data & security practices
01

Connect

Read-only historian export and meter data feeds, plus your network hierarchy.

02

Backtest

Prelko replays the last season and scores against your current forecast.

03

Shadow run

Forecasts and alerts run beside existing processes so teams can compare.

04

Go live

Alerts and recommendations enter the control-room workflow, with reporting on.

Utility questions

Does Prelko replace our SCADA, EMS or ADMS?

No. Prelko sits alongside them. It reads data, forecasts and recommends; your existing systems and operators remain responsible for control and execution.

Can forecasts follow our settlement time blocks?

Yes. Forecasts are produced at 15-minute resolution and can be aggregated to any time-block structure your scheduling uses.

How many feeders can Prelko handle?

The Utility plan is designed for grid-wide deployment across thousands of feeders and substations, with forecasts reconciled up the hierarchy.

Replay last summer's peaks on your network.

We backtest Prelko on your own historian data and show how early each overload would have been flagged.
